Marcelo Lima, President and CEO
Mr. Lima has more than 30 years of experience in the medical industry, holding positions in engineering, marketing, business development, and general executive management. Previously, he was President of Visage Imaging, a subsidiary of Mercury Computer Systems. He was chief executive officer of Opsion Medical, and, prior to that, vice president and general manager for Kodak’s Health Imaging unit in charge of the worldwide laser business. Mr. Lima has also held management positions at Hewlett Packard Medical Products Group and Siemens Medical. He started his career at Johnson & Johnson as a medical device software engineer. Mr. Lima holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Chicago, a Master of Science degree in biomedical engineering from Boston University, and a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from Gama Filho University (UGF) in Brazil.
Paul Meadows, CTO and VP of Engineering
Mr. Meadows has more than 30 years of experience in the medical industry, including lead system development positions in spinal cord stimulation, deep brain stimulation, and insulin pump and glucose sensing markets, as well as research positions at private and public institutes and foundations developing and researching neurostimulation methods. Mr. Meadows has most recently worked for Boston Scientific Neuromodulation and Advanced Bionics Corporations where he was instrumental in their neurostimulation programs, and is Past-President and co-founder of the International Functional Electrical Stimulation Society. Mr. Meadows has a Master of Science degree in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Southern California and Bachelor of Science degree in biochemistry from the University of California at Los Angeles.
Paul Mason, VP of RA/QA/CA
Mr. Mason has over 25 years of experience in the medical device industry, predominantly Class III medical device regulatory environments. His work history includes obtaining US and OUS approvals for implantable devices—pacers, defibrillators, glucose sensors, stents, intraocular lenses—as well as cardiovascular and neurovascular interventional devices—PTCA and PTA catheters, a neurothrombectomy device, neurothrombectomy catheters, a vena cava filter retrieval set. He has held management positions in Regulatory Affairs, Clinical Affairs and Quality. Most recently, he worked as an independent consultant. He has worked in companies ranging in size from start-ups—Biocept, Interventional Technologies, Cardiodyne—to larger, established medical device manufacturers—St Jude CRM, Boston Scientific. He holds a PhD from the University of Texas, a MS from Bucknell University and a BS from Duke University.
Tracey Kruger, VP of Marketing
Ms. Kruger has more than 20 years of experience in the medical device and healthcare industries, having served in a variety of clinical, sales and marketing roles. Ms. Kruger’s most recent position was as the Vice President of Global Marketing for Advanced Bionics LLC where she lead the Marketing Communications, Product Management, Education and Training, Clinical Product Development and Clinical Research functions for the global business. Ms. Kruger holds a Master of Science Degree (Audiology) from Minot State University and a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Saskatchewan.
Jean-Manuel Prudon, General Manager EMEA & Global Sales
Mr Prudon leads international Sales & Marketing activities for ImThera since 2011. He has more than twenty five years of experience across a number of different industries prior to joining ImThera. His career has evolved from engineering to sales management in various high technology businesses. Mr. Prudon has successfully brought to market innovative and disruptive solutions in areas as diverse as defense, maritime surveillance, medical imaging and pharmaceuticals. Mr Prudon holds a MBA from Essec & Mannheim business schools and a Master of Science in Computer Science from Paris VI University (UPMC).
