Sleep apnea patients are diagnosed by their physicians and usually go through a sleep lab test. Treatment is then administered by sleep physicians and/or Ear Nose Throat (ENT) physicians.

ImThera’s solution is designed for patients with moderate to severe obstructive sleep apnea (apnea-hypopnea index (AHI) of 15 and higher). The surgical procedure takes between 60 and 90 minutes to complete and typically requires a one-night hospital stay. Within a couple of weeks of the procedure, patients return for an overnight sleep test and a device calibration session. Therapy begins thereafter.
